A place where children shine

in the heart of Wythenshawe since 2015

For over a decade, Shooting Star Theatre School has been more than a place to learn Dance, Drama, and Musical Theatre — it’s been a second home for families across Wythenshawe.

Founded in 2015, Shooting Star began with a single Drama class and has since grown into the only purpose-built theatre school in Wythenshawe. Our studios were lovingly transformed from an old gym into vibrant rehearsal spaces where creativity, community, and confidence flourish every day.

We are proud to welcome children from birth through to young adulthood, offering classes in everything from Baby Sensory and Preschool Dance sessions, to Street Dance, Ballet, Tap, Musical Theatre, Singing, and more. Whether your child arrives with showbiz dreams or just a little curiosity, they’ll find a place to belong, grow, and thrive.

At Shooting Star, we believe every child deserves the chance to experience the magic of performing arts. We don’t just build performers — we build confidence, resilience, friendships, and unforgettable memories.

A message from our Principal,

Miss Lauren

I’m Lauren, Principal and proud owner of Shooting Star. My passion for the performing arts began as a child, and over the years I’ve combined my love for the stage with a career in education, gaining a BA in Drama and English Literature, a PGCE with QTS, and Associate status with the IDTA.

When I became Principal, my vision was simple: to make high-quality performing arts training accessible to every child in Wythenshawe. I believe every child deserves the chance to shine—whether they dream of a career on stage or simply want to build confidence and friendships.

What makes Shooting Star special isn’t just the classes—it’s the warmth, inclusivity, and community you feel as soon as you walk through our doors. From first steps in a preschool class to professional-level training, every child is supported to grow at their own pace, in their own way.

I can’t wait to welcome you and your family

into our Shooting Star community.

The Stars Behind Shooting Star Theatre School

Every class is led by passionate, professional teachers who combine real-world performance experience with genuine care for each child. From the very first welcome at reception to the applause after a child’s first solo, our team is here to guide, support, and inspire. Together, we make sure every child feels valued, included, and ready to shine.

Nurturing Community: More than a school, we’re a second home. Families tell us time and again that Shooting Star feels welcoming, supportive, and inclusive from the very first day.

Life Skills That Last: Beyond technique, we focus on building confidence, resilience, teamwork, and creativity — skills that empower children far beyond the stage.

When families choose Shooting Star, they’re choosing a place where children are seen, celebrated, and encouraged to reach their potential — in performing arts and in life.
